Those people

There are people out there, that make a difference. I’m not talking about those who are the most charitable or those who dedicate their lives to it, but the people who have made a difference in your life, by perhaps doing just one thing.

But that thing was really important to you, and you’ll never forget it.

I’ve encountered just a few people like that so far, people who show you how not to be afraid. People who do something small, but that makes a world of difference to you, and because of that you’ll always have a special place for them in your heart.

The most memorable feat is when I was going through a tough time, and this person noticed that I was in a bit of a  predicament and simply turned around and came back for me. It sounds simple right? but I will remember it for the rest of my life. Its about the people whose eyes are open to you when you’re in need, and they actually do something about it, not because they have to, because they want to. Or perhaps they just do it, i don’t know if its because they do what they think is the right thing to do, but they did it.

Sometimes they come to you in dreams, where you feel really unsafe, but once you see them, you know that everything is going to be okay.

I could say that you should try to be that person, but you shouldn’t try.

You should always try to be a better person, yes.

But this is different.

You don’t try to be that person, you just are.
Appreciate it. Appreciate that person.

But you probably do already, otherwise you wouldn’t be thinking of them right now.

Try this, take out your mobile phone, and send a text message to the people who you appreciate, just so they know, or so that you’re confirming it, or just so.

It can be  something simple like:

“i just wanted to say that I hope you know that I appreciate everything you do, and have done for me :)”

Simple. Easy.

And it could make the world of difference.

Always say “yes”

I always say that life is short, and I really try to live life to the fullest.

That’s why I “always say yes

When asked to do something fun or weird, whether you’ve experienced it before or not, I see absolutely no reason why you should not say yes.

You’ve got nothing to lose, just potentially awesome activities to experience.

Whether it be simply accompanying someone some where or to actually participate in a new and unheard of activity, just say yes!

I find it really weird when so many people are presented with really interesting and fun events to participate in, and they decline, missing out on having an awesome time, and missing out on meeting such interesting people.

You could come to my house at 6am, wake me up and say: “Lets go do something awesome”, and I’d say “yes“!

Think about it. What stops you from saying yes?

Think of those who can not walk, or are sickly that would love to simply go outside and do awesome air kicks, but can not. Do it for them, say yes. Think of those who do not get the opportunity to say yes, do it for them, say yes.

What is more important than going out and exploring the world? Why do you choose not to say yes, and miss out on the world? Why not do everything you can, before you’re old and unable to?

There is no reason.

Get up, go outside, and say yes.

A few days ago a friend of mine, who is studying photograpy, said that she’d like to take a few photo’s of me in a studio, for an assignment she has. I thought “awesome”, and said yes.

You can view the other photos on Facebook by clicking here.

I said yes and experinced something new, I had fun doing it, and I helped out a friend in the process.

Trying not to sound too conceited or anything but she tied for the highest marks in the class using the photos of me…hahahahahahaha…but obviously it’s mostly her talent… mostly 😉

So remember to say yes, for anything awesome you’re presented with, and just do it! If you have nothing awesome to say yes to, I will give you the opportunity to. [watch this space]

What is ‘Xtreme’ and who is ‘Captain Xtreme’?

My name is Azhar, and I have been meaning to start a blog for quite a while now but had been putting it off, because I had no idea where to start. Then, recently I decided that I was just going to explain “Xtreme”, and start posting as events take place, and as I remember them. So here it goes:

I’d like to introduce you to “Xtreme“.

It all started in High School, when a buddy of mine came to school one day, with a bag that had the word “Xtreme” on it.

I started to tease him about doing things that were “Xtreme”. My friends and I started to refer to things that were cool or awesome as Xtreme, and it just caught on.

Xtreme is doing something in the most awesome way possible. It’s for fun, and a really fun way to make the most of a situation, especially when you’re with your friends.

Then came “Team Xtreme“.

Once again just for fun, we decided to call our group of friends “Team Xtreme“, and it just worked.

Later on I made friends with another awesome group of people, who call themselves “The Wolfpack” – from the movie The Hangover.

How I got the nickname “Captain Xtreme”

One warm summer night, my friends were hanging out at my house, relaxing and so on, when my brother and his friend decided to burn a wasp’s nest that was in the back yard, using a lighter and a tin of aerosol spray. I didn’t take much notice to what they were doing, but one by one, people were going outside to watch. I finally decided to go outside to see for myself. A couple of them had a try, using the lighter and spray to have a flamethrower effect, but they were a bit nervous about getting burnt. I stepped forward, took the lighter and spray, and thoroughly created the flamethrower effect and succeeded in burning out the wasp nest.

My friend with the Xtreme bag then said: “Wow, you’re like Captain Xtreme!

When I heard that, I thought: “That’s the most awesome nickname ever!”, and I made it stick.

That’s the very short version of Xtreme, with lots and lots of examples, incidents, stories and events to follow.

I will post on things that I do, events that I host and attend, as well as things I find interesting.
